Paper Whale unveils the return of our speaker series—back this winter, bigger and better than ever. Please join us for the first Rising Tide event of 2026! Generously supported by the Project Neighborly Fund of the Whatcom Community Foundation.
On February 13, we welcome endurance athlete Kacie Cleveland—a local legend whose feats of determination include the likes of inline skating across the United States in 47 days. Doors open at 7—expect a jazz trio for live music, mingling, splashes of comedy, video content, and a hosted panel discussion with community members sharing short stories prior to the main presentation. After Q&A, plan to stay awhile—chairs will clear and the DJ kicks off a roller disco, with skating and/or dancing optional but thoroughly encouraged. Throw on some neon: There will be blacklights.
This event is BYOB, so feel free to bring your Friday libations of choice along with you.
